The Stamford Community Orchard recent community event at the Stamfords Art Centre was an absolute success, and we were very excited to be part of such a fun day!  The community orchard group are a non-profit group based in the Lincolnshire market town of Stamford with the aim of promoting apples and orchards in the area.

Angela Adams, a member of our committee wowed visitors with samples of her  products straight from her very own apiary. From honey to beeswax candles, her creations were a true testament to the hard work she puts into the craft.

But that’s not all!  Our Chairman Richard Griffin, treated guests to a unique honey-tasting experience.  Offering samples of honey harvested throughout the season, showcasing the diverse flavors and textures that bees produce, influenced by the various nectars they collect during their foraging adventures.  Apple blossom is an important nectar source early on in the year so a clear link between both of our groups was clear to see.

The interest in beekeeping and the appreciation for the hard work our beekeepers put into their craft were very well received.  Thank you to everyone who helped to make the day a success.

A Hive of Activity The event was not only about delicious apples and honey but also about fostering connections. We saw a remarkable turnout, and it was heartwarming to connect with the orchard group and visitors.  It’s moments like these that remind us of the strength and unity of our communities and the importance of maintaining these relationships.

A Note from Adam Cade (Chair – Stamford Community Orchard Group) Adam wanted to pass on his thanks and was very pleased to have us involved in the day.  So much so that we’re already getting booked in to attend the 2024 event.

Stay Tuned for More! As we wrap up this update, we strongly encourage our beekeepers to check out the Stamford Community Orchard Group and support the great work that they’re doing.  You can find out more about them at https://www.scog.org.uk/
